From Reflection to Revelation, Elevating Your Praise in 2025
How Gratitude for the Past and Hope for the Future Can Transform Your Praise
As I look back on the past year and get ready for a new one, I can’t help but feel it’s a good time to hit pause, take stock, and thank God for all He’s done and all He’s going to do. Praise has this amazing way of reminding me that no matter what’s going on, God’s got it. It shifts my perspective—away from the chaos and back to His steady, loving presence.
The word praise is described as “to commend; to applaud; to express approbation of personal worth or actions.” In simpler terms, when I praise God, I’m just saying, “God, You’re amazing, and I’m so thankful for who You are and what You do.” Praise isn’t just for the sunny days either. It’s been my lifeline in tough seasons, my celebration when things go right, and my way of staying grounded when I’m waiting for answers.
When I think about 2024, I’m grateful for the ups and the downs. Whether it was a year of wins or lessons (or maybe a mix of both), I can see God’s fingerprints all over it. Psalm 150:6 says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” Honestly, that hits me. If I’ve got breath, I’ve got a reason to praise.
Looking ahead to 2025, I’m excited. I’m hopeful for bigger ways to see God move—whether that’s through deeper understanding of His love, taking bold steps of faith, or just seeing His plans unfold in ways that blow my mind. Ephesians 3:20 says God “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” Isn’t that amazing? It gives me so much hope for what’s to come.
So, how can I let praise take up more space in my life this year? Maybe I start each morning by saying thank you, sing a song of worship even when things feel uncertain, or share a story about God’s goodness with someone who needs it. Praise isn’t just about words; it’s about the attitude of my heart—a daily reminder that God is bigger, better, and more present than I sometimes realize.
What about you? How could you take your praise to a new level in 2025? Maybe it’s setting aside time to worship, writing down what you’re thankful for, or stepping out in faith to share what God has done in your life.
Let’s head into the new year with hearts wide open, ready to praise the One who deserves it all.
